The wind whistled through the creaking hut, catching the hanging bric-a-brac. "The wind speak...I feel a lost soul come". She crept towards the fire and tossed spices into the flickering flames and awaited the visitor's face to reveal itself....

Jack Sparow was rowing in a small boat down the river that lead to Tia Dalma's hut. The strange, dark shadows of people could be seen under the cover of the shadows of low hanging rees, and eerie lights shone in their hands and all around, dooted about like fireflies. Jack looked around him silently with a wary look on his face. He finally reached the hut standing on its own in the strange marshy area. Jack looked around him once again and tied the boat to a pole then climbed out. He staggered a little then climbed th esmall ladder up to the door and knocked twice then put jis ear to the door frowning slightly

A smile curled the side of Tia's mouth. "Jack Sparrow..." She turned from the flame and faced the door. With a slight raise of her finger, the door slowly creaked open. She was momentarily surprised as Jack fell through the open door. "I knew da wind be blown' you back to me one day"......"To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Jack stumbled in through the door then picked himself up clumsily swaying his way towards Tia Dalma. "I need a little guidance Tia" he said huskily. When he was right in front of her and their faces were very close, he turned away quickly then whipped out his compass "It, um, isn't working" he said hastily, which meant that he didnt know what he wanted of course.....

Tia began to smirk, then jestfully remarked "Jack Sparrow not know what he want..." She stepped forward, just to tease Jack, she knew he was always uncertain & bit daunted by her presence, she could see it in her eyes & she enjoyed knowing that few people have that effect on him. "Give it here" she took the compass from Jack & held it in the palm of the hand. When she opened it the dial was already spinning rapidly...Then it stopped suddenly & focussed just to the left of where Jack was standing. "Perfect."............"You must clear your mind an' all will be revealed."........"So, Jack, whats on your mind?

jack shifted uneasily and mumbled, "Well, it could be that Davy Jones... might... have, um" he lowered his voice to a whisper and said in her ear "...come back" he drew away looking meaningfully at her. Jack had indeed seen Jones come back, but he hadnt told anyone of it and had been acting very strangely because of it. Barbossa and gibbs esecially had seemed to notice it most, and finally when he had not been able to keep it to himself any longer, had come here to speak to Tia Dalma, the only one he knew could help him. The crew were waiting in the Pearl for him just off shore and were rather impatient, which was why he had said it so readily.....

Tia immediately turned away from Jack, she didn't want him to see the pain in her eyes. Her mind drifted back to her meeting with Jones in the ship's brig when he had told her his heart still belonged to her. Then after the battle, when Jones' heart had been stabbed, he had fallen into the whirlpool of the sea, which was being powered by her force. His spirit had called out to her for help, & she couldn't resist the temptation. She had then made an oath with him. If he was truthful in the fact that he still loved her, she would revive him....On one condition...He would have to remain part of the sea for 100 years & never surface. After this time he could return to her. This was not only to prove his love, but a severe punishment for failing his duty to ferry souls to the other world when he was captian of the Dutchman. Tia's eyes began to burn with witheld tears as she spun back to face Jack, fury emitting from every inch of her body. "Davy Jones has broke him promise...Again!" She could not believe that it had happened so soon, let alone at all. Noticing the terror in Jacks eyes, she explained what had happened, hoping he would understand & not judge her actions as weak. "I must know when an' where you saw him, an' if he saw you"...She paused, then looked up into his eyes with senscerety & remorse....She needed him to trust her, because now she needed his help.........

Jack was taken aback at her reaction and drew away slightly. When she asked him this question he looked down at the floor and sighed, swaying slightly. It was when he had left in his little boat (at the end of the 3rd film) and sailed into the sunset, while in the middle of the ocean through the fog, he saw that the water had become disturbed very noticeably, for it had been as still as glass. He saw a dark figure through the fog and he had recognised that accented voice. It had said 'Jack Sparrow.' and laughed eerily - it had a strange watery ring to it - 'I have been bound to the sea once again and I need you to help me get the dutchman back from that wretched Turner' The dark figure had approached, as though standing on the churning water, and the terribly familiar squidlike face of Davy Jones had merged from the fog and was face to face with Jack, face streaming with sea water. Jack had said 'And why should I help you, my fine fishy friend? I see no compensation in there for me' and Jones had drawn back slightly and laughed then said very quietly 'Immortality, Sparrow. Imagine that. The Immortal, Captain Sparrow... Like it? *pop*' Jack had thought for just a minute before answering 'You still haven't said what I need to do in this little quest - you want me to free you from the sea? Then you will stab dear old Will's heart, correct?' he looked inquiringly at Jones who smiled evilly - 'Exactly. So do we have an accord?' Jack smiled and held out his hand 'Deal.' Jack suddenly came back to reality in Tia's hut "Oh, yes, Tia... Well....." the truth was, he was unsure about the bargain - he didnt 100% trust Jones and he wanted some guidance, and had come, knowing she was the only one who could give him some. So he said "I made a deal with him. A deal with Davy Jones..."

Fury now coarsed through her..Like Hell hath no!She took a few forceful steps towards Jack, penatrating him with her stare, just to put him in his place. "What kin' of a deal did you make?" She needed him to understand this was a very serious matter, one that could get him into a lot of trouble. She spoke softer now, but with a determination in her voice. "Davy Jones has become a phantom of the sea....Him can not help you....What he has offered is of no use. Him is of spirit. Nothing can make him human, except me." Her voice now trembled with anger & sadness " It was him who told the Brethran Court how to bound me to this human form....But I have made sure he can not return until I allow it." Walking towards the door she turned to him and asked "Will you help me? I will make it worth your while.."

Jack retreated until he hit the wall as Tia advanced, eyes blazing with anger. His brain churned with ideas and feelings until he answered slowly "He asked me... to stab the heart for him... He didnt want Turner as captain anymore and wanted a worthier captain for his ship - me!" he grinned at his own wit and then said "Well as for your request, what am I being asked to do...?" he was formulating a plan in his crafty mind, to find a way of getting Tia to free Jones with his own wit and he was hoping she would do so for fear of Jack being captain and would raise Jones to captain the ditchman instead of him to save Jack from an eternity of captaincy...... But he knew Tia would be a hard one to fool, but he was up for a challenge... the only descent challenges he got was arguements with Barbossa, which wasnt really much fun after a while...

Tia could not believe what she was hearing. How dare Jones try something like this, he knew what the consequences would be because he knew she would find out...Unless it was some plan to see her...She doubted it, hes not that romantic. Turning her attention back to Jack, she questioned him "An' you would do dat to William, to Elizabeth? You would sacrafice the love of two kindred spirits for a man you don' even trust?...Jack Sparrow, him want you dead. Him know his crew would would not betray him & they would stab your heart before you had time to breath your first immortal breath." This was perhaps a bit bold of her to say, but she knew Jones was a wicked man & she was quite fond of Jack in his own witty way. "Even so, could you ferry souls for an eternity Jack, or would you end up like Jones, a cruel an' heartless beast..." she knew he didn't have the face for tenticles. "No Jack, you want the Pearl, you want immortality...An' I know there are other ways to get that without ageing a day. You have the map I see" She gestured to the bulge in his left pocket. "You know where to find it, but you don' know what you must do when you get there...But if you help me return Jones to his own Locker, I will make sure you drink from that Fountain..."

Jack sighed. He was rather fond of Jones in a strange, fishy way, so he half wanted Jones back rather than Will.... eunich.... Jack then said "Well, I'm not really bothered about Will and his beloved, and even though I dont have the face for tentacles, I rather facy myself captaining the Dutchman, but on the other hand I won't have the Pearl and bloody Barbossa will have it..." he was mumbling to himself now. 'Well, Jones can't miss me if he's under the sea, so why dont I take Tia's offer of immortality instead? But then there's the problem of Jones' rath and I dont fancy running away from Jones again, but then again, the Kraken's dead, so I'm safe...ish. Hmmm....' he thought. At last he said "We have an accord! How do you intend of binding ol' Jones to the sea then, eh?"

Tia smirked...."Aaaah, dats what I need you for......Live bait....." Tia knew that now that Jones had spoken with Jack, he wont rest until he gets an answer from him, so he will be on the lookout for Jack. "Jones, him will be waiting for you, when he surfaces dat is when I will speak wit him to give him a fair chance to explain himself." She was rather hoping this was a romantic gester on Jones' part. If so, perhaps she could find it within her self to free him. She could possibly even lift the spell from Will, but that would not be easy....another trip to the bloody freezing evd of the earth......She bagan explaining this to Jack. "What do you think Jack? Are you up for it?"

Jack's eyes widened at this suggestion - live 'bait' Jack pondered but then the memory of the dead Kraken came back and he felt heartened. "No beastie!" he thought. Then at last said "'Course I'm up for it! We have an accord" he grinned and held out a hand
